"Margaret Patton wife of Sam Patton and daughter of William Eliqah and Nancy Jane Denton. After a few weeks illness with typhoid fever departed this life Oct 11th, 1902, with something like heart trouble. Her case was not thought to be of alarming gravity as in substance was expressed by her attending physician, after a stated time for taking medicine for which purpose she raised herself in bed and immediately on doing so life became extinct. Thus ends the life of one of whom it can be said had all the characteristics of a true and devoted companion a kind and tender hearted mother, a generous and abliging neighbor, she was never boisterous but modest temperance patience, prudence and kindness were some of the cardinal features of her life. She leaves a heart stricken husband and four small children. A mother, five brothers, four sisters and many other relatives to mourn her demise. Her remains were laid to rest in Bluffton Cemetery in the prescesce of many sorrowing relatives and friends there to await the reserrection morn.
Her Uncle"
